CONCEPT

Bringing together two iconic brands called for a truly remarkable space. For 30 years, adidas and BAPE have been at the forefront of merging sports culture and streetwear in bold, expressive ways. To celebrate the anniversary of the Forum 84, we dove deep into nostalgia, drawing inspiration from 1984—the year the Forum debuted and arcades were the pinnacle of excitement.

This vision culminated in the adidas x BAPE retro arcade activation, where fans had the chance to PLAY TO WIN limited edition sneakers and merchandise. Instead of the usual online raffle, we transformed the experience into a real-life basketball showdown, allowing contenders to track their standings on a live leaderboard. This interactive approach not only engaged fans but also created a dynamic atmosphere that celebrated both brands’ legacies.

 
 
 

Brushed steel panels were incorporated to establish a striking contrast between the exterior and interior spaces. Vibrant pink branding threads throughout the design, appearing in various forms to enhance the retro arcade theme and create a cohesive visual narrative.

 
 
 

Given the limited dimensions of the space within END, we strategically mirrored one wall to create the illusion of a larger environment. This clever design choice not only enhances the visual depth of the area but also reflects the vibrant energy of the activation.

 
 
 
 

Expanding on the 84 arcade concept, the material palette draws inspiration from retro futurism. We incorporated fluorescent pink tube lights, reflective and transparent surfaces, all seamlessly integrated with the iconic BAPE camo print and 8-bit graphics. This combination creates an engaging and immersive brand experience, inviting visitors to step into a vibrant and nostalgic world.

The prize wall showcased exclusive adidas x BAPE merchandise and accessories tailored specifically for the END activation. Designed for both contenders and customers, this interactive display allowed participants to win and purchase unique items, enhancing their experience in the space.
